Aplasia: absence of a kidney

· Aplasia: absence of a kidney

· Hypoplasia: usually unilateral, secondary to obstruction of the ureter in utero

· Horseshoe Kidney:

o 1 in 500

o Work normally

o Disturbed renal flow: ureter has to flow over the kidney ® recurrent UTI
