History: pain, bleeding, urinary and bowel symptoms, constitutional symptoms (weight loss, night sweats, etc)

Pelvic Mass

 

·        History: pain, bleeding, urinary and bowel symptoms, constitutional symptoms (weight loss, night sweats, etc)


·        Exam: shape, consistency, mobility, etc


·        Where:

o   Physiological: full bladder, flatus, faeces, pregnancy, obesity

o   Congenital: uterine anomaly, pelvic or polycystic kidney

o   Trauma: rectus abdominis haematoma

o   Infective: pyosalpinx, pelvic abscess, diverticulitis, TB peritonitis, lymph nodes 

o   Neoplastic: fibroids, tumours of colon, rectum cervix or endometrium, ascites, retroperitoneal tumour, mesenteric cyst

o   Hormonal: non-neoplastic cysts

o   Mechanical: Hydronephrosis 

o   Pregnancy associated: pregnancy in uterine horn or ectopic, trophoblastic disease, corpus luteum of pregnancy


·        Investigations:

o   Pregnancy test

o   US

o   Ca125

o   ESR, FBC

o   Laproscopy, colonoscopy
