mechanical power P available from any electric motor can be expressed as:

torque developed in N-m
If the
gross output of the rotor of an induction motor is Pm and its speed
is N r.p.m., then gross torque T developed is given by:
Note.
Since windage and friction loss is small, Tg = Tsh,. This
assumption hardly leads to any significant error.
