Vasculitis
Vasculitis is an inflammatory infiltration of the wall of blood vessels with associated tissue damage.

Vasculitis is an inflammatory infiltration of the wall of blood vessels
with associated tissue damage. The affected
vessels vary in size, type and location. The underlying mechanisms of
the disorders are not fully understood. Vasculitis may be primary or associated
with another disorder such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid
arthritis, scleroderma, malignancy, infection and drugs. Vasculitides may be
considered according to the size of vessel affected (see Table 8.6).
