Non communicable disease (NCD) is a medical condition or disease that is not caused by infectious agents.

INTRODUCTION

Non communicable disease (NCD) is a medical condition or disease that is not caused by infectious agents. Non communicable diseases are usually caused by genetic or lifestyle factors.




Four types of NCDs

            Cardio vascular diseases

            Cancer

            Diabetes and

            Chronic respiratory diseases.

Metabolic and behavioural risk factors are most common causes of non communicable diseases. NCDs can refer to chronic diseases which last for long periods of time and progress slowly. The life styles and behaviour patterns of people are changing rapidly these are being favourable to the onset of chronic disease.
