Parsi Reform Movement
In the
middle of the nineteenth century the reform activities began in Mumbai.
Furdunji Naoroji founded the Rahnumai Mazdayasnan Sabha (Parsis’ Reform
Society) in 1851. Rast Goftar (The Truth Teller) was the main
voice of the movement. Behrramji
Malabari organized a campaign for legislation against the practice of child
marriage. The community produced many leaders such as Pherozeshah Mehta and
Dinshaw Wacha who played a big role in the early Congress.
