HYPERTROPHIC
OBSTRUCTIVE CARDIOMYOPATHY
A 28-year-old woman with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) presents for labor and delivery.
She is initially managed by the obstetrician with intra-venous meperidine, but
becomes progressively more uncomfortable. The anesthesiologist is then
consulted for further management.
