1. Add the following fractions

i. 1/5 + 3/5 = 4/5

ii. 1/7 + 3/7 = 4/7

iii. 5/12 + 2/12 = 7/12

iv. 3/9 +7/9 = 10/9

v. 2/15 + 3/15 = 5/15 = 1/3

vi. 2/7 + 1/7 +3/7 = 6/7

vii. 3/10 + 5/10 + 2/10 = 10/10 =1

viii. 2/9+1/9=3/9 = 1/3

ix. 3/8 + 2/8 = 5/8

2. Mother gave 2/8 of guava to Meena and 3/8 of guava to Geetha. What part of the guava did she give them altogether?

Mother gave guava to meena = 2/8

Mother gave guava to Geetha = 3/8

Answer: She gave 5/8 part to them altogether.

3. The girls of Std V cleaned 3/5 of a field, while the boys cleaned 1/5. What part of the field was cleaned altogether?

Field cleaned by girls = 3/5

Filed cleaned by boys = 1/5

Total part of the field = 3/5+1/5=4/5

Answer: Total part of the field was cleaned = 4/5
