What is the prevalence of cancer pain by organ system?
Different organ systems are variously
associated with cancer pain. Pancreatic cancer is the most common type of
cancer associated with pain, with bone cancer being the sec-ond most common.
Both cancers cause pain in over 80% of cases. Breast, lung, and colon cancers
are associated with pain in greater than 70% of cases, and with lymphomas and
leukemias, nearly 60% of patients experience pain.
