CORONARY
ARTERY BYPASS GRAFTING
A 64-year-old man with hypertension,
non-insulin-requiring diabetes mellitus, elevated serum cholesterol, and mild
renal insufficiency presents for coronary artery bypass grafting. His recent
cardiac catheterization results indicate 75% stenosis of his left main coronary
artery and 70% stenosis of his right coronary artery. Left ventricular function
is normal. His medications include metoprolol, nitroglycerin patch, aspirin,
clopidogrel, and omeprazole.
