MITRAL STENOSIS

A 77-year-old, 55-kg woman is admitted to the hospi-tal with severe pulmonary edema and atrial fibrillation with a rapid ventricular response. Cardiac catheter-ization demonstrates severe mitral stenosis with pul-monary hypertension and tricuspid regurgitation. Mitral valve replacement with tricuspid valve annuloplasty is planned.
