nothing for the development of his country. The circumstances were not
favourable for the aged people. He sent this inhuman proclamation to the people
of his country. As those days were barbarous, it was common to kill the aged
people mercilessly. The rulers did not care about old people. Some kind people
abandoned the aged people in no man’s land or in mountain tops such as
Obatsuyama, the mountain of the “abandoning of the aged”. Since it was the
common practice, the aged people suffered a lot in the province of shining.
